Note: In the Weekly forecasts for the week of August 16 - 22, 1999 (on p. 42), I did warn that "Destruction could ... occur..." The effects of the total Solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 will last for some time. Because eclipses are considered turning points in Astrology, the fact that there were no earth shattering events at the moment of the eclipse is not an indicator of the significance of the events which preceded the eclipse, and even more importantly, those that could follow. The path of an eclipse is generally the area where the greatest long term effects of the eclipse are felt, and the path of this one goes right through many of the hot spots today. The first major events to occur in this area before the eclipse (the pre-resonanaces) were the Kosovo conflict and the exacerbation of the Indian - Pakistani feud over Kashmir. These were followed by the demonstrations in Iran this summer. The first really major event in the path of this eclipse is the 780 earthquake that rocked Turkey at 0002 GMT today, August 17, 1999 (see BBC News | Europe | Turkey quake toll rises). There already have been 20 to 30 strong aftershocks, and there will probably be others. It is important to note that the eclipse culminated (was on the midheaven) in Turkey (courtesy Pamela Crane, thanks Pam!). Nostradamus talks about "Sept mois" in quatrain X,72. While many feel it refers to July, it could just as easily, and even more literally, refer to September. If that is the case, then there could be even more dynamic events shortly.
