November 11 and November 12, 1999
Turkey is rocked yet again by killer earthquakes. My heart goes out to those poor people, living right in the path of the August 11, 1999 eclipse where it culminated (that is, when it was on the midheaven, the highest point in the heavens).
It was clear from the chart of the earthquake in this area on August 17, 1999 that there was likely to be a series of them (see August 17, 1999 Turkey Earthquake).
The charts of the November 11 and both November 12 earthquakes all share the almost exact Saturn - Uranus square and the Sun - Uranus parallel, both of which are an extremely destabilizing aspects. Also notice 19 fixed on the ascendant of the November 11 earthquake chart, reminiscent of the August eclispe. The killer quake of the three (the second one, at 4.57.20 PM UT, all data courtest of the United States Geological Survey web site, see NEIC: Near-Real-Time Earthquake Bulletin) has Sun, Uranus, and the Vertex all parallel !!! It just goes to show you how important modern techniques like parallels are in analysis.
